Multicultural Art Units with Depth and Respect


Participants will see strategies for creating place- and culturally- based arts units and understand how this project in Bering Strait School District can be meaningfully transferred to any classroom, whatever the location might be. Members of the audience will be provided with our project website URL, participate in a series of visible thinking routines while responding to images of contemporary and traditional Indigenous art, and be given a link to a local artist video. Finally, participants will share their connections with the workshop content and their own teaching practice.
