Seeking Cultural Relevance in Your Classroom? Seek Genuine Relationships Instead.

The most effective educational tool we have as educators working outside of our own culture is genuine relationships with the people in the communities we serve. It is only through these genuine relationships that we can learn what’s important, what problems exist, and how people think about solving them. We can then bring our own perspectives and knowledge to the classroom while incorporating real, relatable, and culturally relevant ideas and activities. In this session, we will share real examples of this concept in action and give you the tools you need to transform your own classroom through relationships.
