This session will provide tools to develop a calendar that can be used to teach local Native concepts of time and mark significant cultural events. Del Norte Unified School District in Del Norte County, California, will be providing all the teachers in the school district with calendars that represent local Natives’ important ceremonies, harvesting times, and common cultural practices. There is a teaching curriculum that will accompany the calendar that goes into depth about each of the items on the calendar.
