Adriana Northcutt grew up in small mining towns in New Mexico and Arizona before moving to Alaska, where her family worked at Greens Creek Mine, outside of Juneau. A graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School, she began her studies at the University of Alaska Southeast and later earned a biology degree from Montana State University. After working as a field biologist, Adriana discovered her passion for helping others connect with STEM and returned to earn her Secondary Science teaching certification. Adriana later earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Alaska Southeast.
She spent 17 years as a teacher and administrator in the Juneau School District.
Today, Adriana works as an energy educator with Renewable Energy Alaska Project and as the Sustainable Southeast Partnership Regional Energy Catalyst supporting communities across Southeast Alaska. Her work includes community energy planning, youth and adult energy education, workforce development, and identifying funding pathways for energy projects. She collaborates with tribal organizations, schools, utilities, and regional partners to strengthen local capacity and advance sustainable energy initiatives through relationship-building, collaboration, and shared learning.
