Caydden Gordon-Baker is a Sealaska member and a Tlingit and Haida descendant engaged in 13 Moons: Knowing Who I Am and Where I Come From ©, an Indigenous classroom-to-place-based learning approach. He serves in a 300-hour AmeriCorps position with Whiteswan Environmental at Whatcom Intergenerational High School and is a member of the Class of 2026. Through this work, he developed skills in Coast Salish loom weaving and focused his capstone on this practice, aiming to deepen his connection to his own cultural tradition of Chilkat weaving. He contributes to immersive Indigenous planetarium experiences by sharing his learning and strengthening his connection to land, culture, and intergenerational knowledge. He looks forward to sharing this work in his ancestors’ territory at the Sealaska Heritage Institute’s Annual Culturally Responsive Education Conference.
