Dr. Diego Zelaya is an Instructional Designer II at Kenai Peninsula College, where he supports the design and development of engaging, learner-centered educational experiences. Prior to his work in instructional design, he served as an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor across three continents, gaining extensive experience working with diverse learners, cultures, and educational contexts. His research interests examine the relationships among education, place, and change, with a particular emphasis on the ethical dimensions of learning. He is interested in how educational environments, cultural contexts, and evolving technologies shape teaching and learning, as well as how educators can foster meaningful, equitable, and contextually responsive learning experiences. His work is grounded in exploring how learning can support positive individual and community transformation while addressing broader questions of ethics, identity, and educational practice.
