Dugan Coburn

Dugan Coburn, BS, is a member of the Blackfeet Nation (Amskapi Pikuni) of Northern Montana, with roots also in the Klamath and Pitt River tribes of Oregon. He grew up in Klamath, Oregon, Browning, Montana, and Salem, Oregon, and has lived in Great Falls, Montana, for the past 30 years. His Indian name is Saaam Matapi, “Healing Person.”

Dugan is currently the Director of Indian Education for the Great Falls Public School system in Great Falls, which serves 10,011 students of which 1, 556 are urban Native Americans from 74 tribes from across the United States. He has been a member of the Lewis and Clark Honor Guard for the past 23 years.”
