Ghagetch Rebekah Sawers serves as the Administrative Coordinator for the Huna Heritage Foundation, where she is dedicated to perpetuating Tlingit culture and way of life through community programs, cultural initiatives, and educational outreach. Of Yupik and Caucasian descent, she was adopted into the Tlingit Shangukeidí clan (Eagle/Thunderbird) and is deeply committed to serving her community and strengthening cultural connections for future generations.
In addition to her work at Huna Heritage Foundation, Rebekah serves as a board member for Tidelines Institute and is a member of the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network. She is passionate about supporting community-driven initiatives, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Rebekah enjoys creating art and finding meaningful ways to connect culture, creativity, and community.
