Karl Schleich

Karl Schleich is a 40+ year educator, having served as a middle school teacher, building principal, director, trainer, and consultant.  He has served as an elementary and middle school principal for 24 years in Alaska, having had the opportunity to open three new schools during his career.  Karl was recognized with Alaska’s National Distinguished Principal Award in 2000.  In 2011, his last school, Shaw Elementary in Wasilla, was recognized as Alaska’s Title 1 Distinguished School for Student Achievement and by the State of Alaska for “Best Inclusive Practices.” His workshops in the areas of positive behavior support, behavior management, coaching, and instructional tours have been highly regarded throughout Alaska and in the Lower 48.  Karl also led the implementation of the Virtues Project in multiple school settings in Alaska and internationally. Karl taught in Metlakatla in the 1980s and for the past decade-plus supported teachers and schools all over the US and over 50 villages throughout Alaska.
