Nathan Bennett is Haida and the founder of Future Ancestors Alliance, a Washington-based nonprofit focused on Indigenous digital stewardship, language technology, youth training, and community-led cultural preservation. He has more than two decades of software engineering experience and is building practical tools that help communities protect, teach, and share language and cultural knowledge with consent and care.

Through Future Ancestors Alliance, Nathan supports youth tech cohorts, Indigenous language learning apps, digitization projects, community-controlled data systems, and tools for language recordings, review, access, and stewardship. His work is rooted in the belief that Indigenous communities should not only use technology created by others, but should also shape, govern, and build the tools that carry their languages, histories, and future responsibilities forward.
