Seiya’ Eesh Jeffrey Skaflestad

Seiya’ Eesh Jeffrey Skaflestad, of Norwegian and Tlingit descent, serves as a Community Specialist for the Huna Heritage Foundation and is an accomplished Tlingit carver and formline artist. An avid historian and researcher, he is deeply passionate about local history and culture, building on a diverse career that includes decades as an award-winning science teacher and a high lead logger. He holds a degree in Animal Science, is endorsed by the state of Alaska to teach biology, and has a lifetime teacher endorsement. He currently teaches Tlingit formline and carving, and is teaching the Socratic Method to faculty. He has shared his expertise through international lectures on critical thinking and over 40 years of experience as an outdoor guide. A proud father and grandfather, Jeffrey remains dedicated to his family and the Chookaneidí clan of Hoonah.
